Stuart Ellis – Management Account

Stuart Ellis

Stuart manages the Finance team, produces Management Financial reports and prepares the RLSS UK Statutory Accounts. Stuart supports the Corporate Director and CEO providing payroll management and budgetary monitoring and forecasting. 

 

Darren Wallace – Membership Officer

Darren Wallace

Darren deals with all aspects of RLSS UK membership right from application to sending out your membership card.  In addition to this he is responsible for registering and renewing the IQL Approved Training Centres.  Also, if you have any problems registering to use the website it will most likely be Darren that you contact.

 

John Alderson – Finance Officer RLSS UK

John Alderson

John has responsibility for all financial processing for RLSSUK to include all purchase invoices, expenses, branch proportions and some aspects of sales invoicing.  John is also responsible for all aspects of branch finance for those branches who have signed up to Central Financing.

 

Veronica Bridges – Finance Assistant IQL UK Ltd and RLSS UK

Veronica Bridges

Veronica is responsible for placing orders for new and renewal NPLQ candidate packs by Approved Training Centres. She also deals with banking and credit card payments.

 

Wendy Green – Credit Control Administrator

Wendy Green

Wendy’s role is credit control and helpdesk for sales and invoice queries she also assists with IQL’s financial processing.

 

Chris Nelson - ICT Services Manager

Chris Nelson

Chris joined RLSS UK in November 2010 after many years working as an IT professional in the private and voluntary sectors. He specialises in maximising the use of IT systems over a range of technologies, and has a track record of designing systems tailored to the time and cost constraints of our sector. Chris has already made a large impact on the IT systems we use internally, and will be looking at how we can help our membership utilise their own IT more effectively.

 

Tiffany Cheyne – PA to Corporate Director & Corporate Support

Tiffany Cheyne

Tiff is Di Steer's PA. She supports the Corporate Director and Corporate Team to deliver HR, Finance, ICT and legal services.

 

Hannah Smith – PA to the Chief Executive

Hannah Smith 2

Hannah is Di Standley’s PA and provides her with full secretarial and administrative support. In addition she provides secretarial support to the National President and Management Board members. Hannah is secretary to the Management Board and Senior Management Team meetings.

 

Nicola Rees, RLSS UK Enterprises Ltd Contract Manager/Corporate Projects Manager

Nicola Rees

Nicola’s role is to contract manage Lifesavers Direct (RLSS UK’s online store and mail order catalogue, which provides equipment, product and clothing for everyone involved in Lifesaving, Lifeguarding and Emergency Response). She also works alongside the Corporate Director to manage RLSS UK project portfolio. Nicola brings a broad range of commercial, project management, and charity governance experience to RLSS UK having worked for over 10 years in the private sector and five recent years in the third sector. In her free time, Nicola has volunteered for a number of charities (currently non-executive director for a local mental health/arts charity).

 

Joy Iliffe - Safeguarding & HR Officer

Joy Iliffe

Joy is responsible for managing Criminal Record Bureau checks for RLSS UK volunteers. Recruitment of new staff at River House and other HR issues.

 

Peter Lewis – Workforce Development Manager

Peter Lewis

Peter’s role is to facilitate the development of volunteers, members and staff through a range of activities and projects that include managing the RLSS UK Approved Centre which delivers professional learning and development qualifications from external awarding bodies. Passionate about ongoing professional development, Peter gained his masters degree in Human Resource Development in 2005 whilst working as training manager with local government. He is a keen advocate for distance/online learning and is currently supervising the creation of several programmes that are soon to be made available.

 

Jo Barrett - Corporate Assistant

Jo provides adminstration and secretarial support to the Corporate Team and PA to the CEO (Friday's and during holidays). This includes day to day administration, reception cover, correspondence, setting up for meetings and the post.

 

 

Volunteer Engagement Team

 

Ellen Moore - Head of Volunteer Engagement

Ellen Moore

Ellen joined RLSS UK in January 2009 and leads the Volunteer Engagement Team. She is a regular volunteer for both the RLSS UK and other sporting organisations. With many years experience within the leisure industry, training & human resources, youth organisations and governing body and regulators authorities she has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that supports and develops our volunteers. She is a National Trainer Assessor for both the Pool and Lifesaving programmes and has recently become an open water Trainer Assessor.

 

Anna Walters - National Club and Volunteer Development Manager

Anna Walters

Anna, who joined the society in early 2006 to support our Clubs and Volunteers, is herself a committed and dedicated volunteer in the world of sport. Working as a member of the Engagement team, Anna’s role is to offer advice, guidance and support to the RLSS UK Clubs and volunteers in all aspects Club and Volunteer Management, Development and to assist with any challenges and difficulties that our clubs and volunteers may face within their day to day roles within their clubs. Anna brings with her almost ten years experience in a variety of Club, Governing Body and International Federation roles from Mentor and Team Manager to Club Welfare Officer to Club Chairman.

 

Roger Barrett – Branch Liaison Manager

Roger Barrett

With ten years experience with RLSS and regular contact during that time with volunteers, award holders and Branches, Roger’s understanding of the internal workings of the Charity is invaluable in his current role. Roger’s current role is to offer advice, support and guidance to the RLSS UK Branches on both their day to day operation and the development of lifesaving within their area.

 

Lee Heard –National Youth Engagement Officer

Lee has over ten years experience of volunteering and working with volunteers in a developmental capacity. During this time he attended University. Now educated to a masters degree in Sport Development which encompassed developing sport, physical activity and young people in a social setting to develop opportunities in the local community. Lee’s role is to develop and support our young volunteers to provide a well trained, professional, safe and sustainable volunteer workforce into the future. This involves offering day to day support to our volunteers and clubs to improve their outreach work and internal relationships, empowering young people to work with our experienced members and volunteers to provide an integrated and dynamic service.

He will be working to encourage the establishment of a local community based activities, working with other agencies and organisations where appropriate. He will be looking for strong ideas that link well with lifesaving activity and programmes, especially the new survive & save programme to develop local Lifesaving activity and networks.

Lifesaving Development Team

 

Mike Dunn – Lifesaving Programme Manager

Mike Dunn

Michael heads up the lifesaving team, manages the development, support and processing of the lifesaving awards. Most recently Mike has led the development of the Survive and Save Programme and oversees the complete range of life saving awards. Mike is also an active volunteer and a key member of Cheltenham Life Saving club.

 

Ceri Kingston – Assistant Lifesaving Programme Manager

Ceri Kingston

Ceri manages the delivery and ongoing development support of the Rookie Lifeguard, Save a Baby and Senior lifesaving awards programmes. She oversees the day to day management of data processing of life saving awards and the compilation of drowning information and statistics.

 

Elouise Greenwood - National Sports Development Officer

Elouise Greenwood

Elouise comes from a sports development background and is working to ensure the provision and improvement of opportunities to participate in competitive lifesaving activities. She is personally focused on developing a robust infrastructure that will enable Lifesaving Sport in the UK to grow stronger and stronger.

 

Cliff Nelson – Programme Manager - Beach and Open Water

Cliff Nelson

Cliff joined the Society in 2005 having gained experience working as a costal manager for a local authority and spending over ten years in academia, specialising in coastal research.

Cliff is responsible for development of open water programmes and policy and leads the water safety management consultancy section. The consultancy section now holds a portfolio containing a wealth of both national and international life saving projects.

 

Natalie Strong – Senior Administrator

Natalie Strong

Natalie provides secretarial support to Adrian Lole (Director of Lifesaving Development) and Jane Cooper (Director of marketing and Communications) and also manages the administration around National Standing Committees, Relay and staff travel arrangements.

 

Michael Wharrad – Administrator RLSS UK

 

Michael processes RLSS UK Lifesaving Awards with Debbie Pulham and working with the rest of the Lifesaving Team answers many of the telephone enquiries regarding the awards. He also processes course pack orders for the Community Outreach Programmes such as Community Life Support, and Save a Baby's Life.

 

Debbie Pulham – Lifesaving Administrator

Debbie Pulham

Debbie is responsible for the processing of awards for Lifesaving, Beach and Open Water programmes as well as assisting in the production of drowning statistics through data collection and inputting.

 

Marketing and Communications Department

 

Steph Clarke - MarComs Assistant

Stephanie Clarke 2

Steph is responsible for marketing and communications which involves production of the Lifesavers magazine, printing, event marketing and support, raising profile/brand of RLSS UK and media relations.

 

Jane Hepburn – Events Manager

Jane Hepburn

Jane has been with the Society for over 20 years. She is currently Events Manager for all national events within the Society’s calendar – Conference; Presentation of Honours; National Speed Championships and National Lifesaving Championships.

 

Jo Clark- E-MarComs Assistant

Jo Clarke

Jo has recently joined the society and specialises in social media. She currently monitors and updates the RLSS UK Twitter and Facebook pages, analysing performance and reach. Jo also prepares the build up to events to help raise the Society's profile.

 

IQL Department

 

Alex Blackwell - Programme Manager - Pool

Alex Blackwell

Alex is National Pool Programme Manager and a former member of the Society’s National Education Committee. Alex has 20 years experience within the leisure industry. He has been instrumental in the development of the National Pool Programme, National Pool Management Qualification and the Trainer Assessor Units.

 

Martin Symcox - Business Development Manager

Martin Symcox

Martin, who joined RLSS in June 2009, has a wealth of experience within the leisure market. He has the responsibility for leading on the RLSS UK National Pool Management Qualification. Martin’s focus is on the implementation of new products and services for the leisure market and will act as the client liaison for IQL UK Ltd. Martin will also contribute to the management of the Programme Board as a board member.

 

Sarah Hiden - Lifeguard Training Co-ordinator

Sarah Hiden

Sarah coordinates all aspects of the National Lifeguard Trainer Assessor programme, the Lifeguard Trainer Assessor programme and the Probationary Trainer Assessor process. Sarah provides support and guidance from the initial process of becoming a Trainer Assessor through to the update processes for experienced Trainer Assessors. Sarah is responsible for the registration of new Trainer Assessor Courses.

 

Ashley Henderson – PA to the Executive Director of IQL UK Ltd

Ashley Henderson

As PA to the Executive Director, Ashley also manages the general administration of the IQL office, which includes general enquiries, applications for the international Pool and Beach certificates, processing of EV customer feedback and co-ordinating IQL’s seminars, events and meetings. Ashley also provides support to the Pool Programme Manager and the Business Development Manager.

 

Ian Prosser – Technical Officer IQL UK Ltd and RLSS UK

Ian Prosser

As Technical Officer, Ian has a considerable amount of knowledge and expertise in all RLSS UK awards and qualifications. Ian provides support and guidance on all technical aspects of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. In addition Ian provides technical guidance on the ongoing training for lifeguards and provides support for the RLSS UK vocational lifesaving awards. Ian is also an active RLSS UK National Trainer Assessor and is also involved in lifesaving and open water activities.

 

Susan Thomas – Senior Administrator IQL UK Ltd

Susan Thomas

Susan co-ordinates the administration of the National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ) courses. This includes sourcing and liaison with NMPQ course venues, liaison with NPMQ Tutors and candidates and the processing of the qualification. Susan also provides support to the Pool Programme Manager and the Business Development Manager.

 

Val Gameson/Jan Hicks – NPLQ Awards Processing Administrators

Val and Jan process all National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) assessment award forms (circa 44,000 per annum). They deal jointly with queries regarding forms returned with errors and or omissions in the first instance.

 

Sandra Williamson – (RLSS UK) Finance Officer IQL UK Ltd

Sandra Williamson

Sandra oversees all financial processing aspects of IQL including, dealing with suppliers, sales invoices and banking.
