RLSS UK National Lifesaving Championships 2012

Information including rules, entry forms and Branch and Regional Organisers information packs on this years Championship are near the bottom of this page under documents and downloads.

The Championship is made up of four events; Aquatic Initiative Test; Life Support Initiative Test; Swim and Tow; Line Throw.

Aquatic Initiative Test

Competitors will have 90 seconds to respond to an Aquatic Initiative Test, which will test their assessment of the situation, their lifesaving skills and their after rescue treatment.

Life Support Initiative Test

Competitors will have 90 seconds to respond to a dry simulation to demonstrate emergency first and casualty care.

Swim and Tow

Competitors enter the water, swim to their team mate who they then tow to the designated finishing point.

 Line Throw

The competitor has to coil a rope, throw it out to a team mate and pull them back in.

Interested clubs enter at a Branch level.  If a Branch is in receipt of more valid entries than is their entitlement in the respective Regional Heat, that Branch will hold a Branch Heat.  This heat will determine which entries are forwarded to the Regional Heat.

The Region will determine the number of entries in each category. If a Region is in receipt of more valid entries than is their entitlement in the National Final, that Region will hold a Regional Heat. This heat will determine which entries are forwarded to the RLSS UK National Lifesaving Championships.
