National Sports and Recreation Committee - Remit

The Committee is responsible for co-ordinating the development of the Sport of Lifesaving, associated products, programmes, events and services in line with the RLSS UK Strategic Business Plan. This committee will give the much needed focus on lifesaving sport from grass roots to elite performance, embracing the physical activity agenda and providing competitions at all levels; helping to ensure an equitable approach to providing opportunities and structures.

Oversee the action planning process identifying key tasks and appropriate mechanisms in contributing towards achieving strategic aims.
Monitor and review activity and achievements, making recommendations to RLSS UK Management Board in relation to progress against strategic aims.
Contribute to the review and development of new activity supporting the business plan making recommendations for inclusion to Management Board.
