Heritage Bronze Medallion Award
Historically recognised as the flagship award for lifesaving. The Heritage Bronze Medallion assists individuals in developing fitness, knowledge, skills and judgment. The candidate pack contains all the resources for the training of the Bronze Medallion and Life Support.
The pre-requisite for this award is to hold a current Life Support Award (which may be taken as part of the course), and be 13 years or older.

Heritage Award of Merit
This is a progression from the Bronze Medallion and requires a proficient level of knowledge, understanding and practical ability.
The pre-requisites for this award are to hold a current Life Support Award (which may be taken as part of the course), hold or have held a Heritage Bronze Medallion, and be 14 years or older.

Heritage Distinction Award
This is a progression from Award of Merit and requires an excellent level of knowledge, understanding and practical ability.
The pre-requisites for this award are to hold a current Life Support Award (which may be taken as part of the course), hold or have held an Award of Merit, Hold or have held a Silver Cross Award, and be 14 years or older.

Bronze Cross Award
The Bronze Cross is the first open water award of the Heritage Senior Award Programme. The syllabus develops fitness, skill, judgment and knowledge specific to open water rescue, and the assessment takes place in open water.
The pre-requisites for this award are to hold a current Life Support Award (which may be taken as part of the course), hold or have held a Heritage Bronze Medallion, and be 14 years or older.

Silver Cross Award
This award progresses from the Bronze Cross. The syllabus trains a higher standard of fitness, skill, judgment and knowledge specific to open water rescue, and the assessment takes place in open water.
The prerequisites for the award are to hold or have held a Bronze Medallion, hold or have held the Bronze Cross and hold a current Life Support qualification.
The pre-requisites for this award are to hold a current Life Support Award (which may be taken as part of the course), hold or have held a Heritage Bronze Medallion, hold or have held and be 14 years or older.

Lifesaving 1, 2, 3 Programme
These awards introduce the basic skills for lifesaving and are good preparation for older swimmers (not Rookies) considering Bronze Medallion. There is no minimum candidate age, and there are no prerequisites for these awards.
