Water Safety Advice for Schools

Teaching children how to swim is a valuable life skill currently embedded within the National Curriculum. Water Safety Education and personal survival skills should always be taught alongside learn to swim programmes to ensure children appreciate the dangers associated with the aquatic environment.

RLSS UK provides a range of activity programmes to teach water safety and life saving skills across the curriculum for primary and secondary education.

In addition to water safety education for children RLSS UK has a range of qualifications to support teachers in the supervision of school swimming. As well as pool safety there are new qualifications to support teachers leading children on field trips to sites where water may present a hazard.
