The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the United Kingdom and Ireland that complies with the industry guidance contained within the HSE publication 'Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools' Generally, the NPLQ is a recruitment requirement for a number of jobs from Pool Lifeguard to Centre Manager. National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NBLQ)
The National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NBLQ) in the UK & Ireland is accepted as the standard qualification for Beach Lifeguards on most UK beaches.
The NBLQ qualification comprises of a 5 elements including lifeguard theory, resuscitation, pool and open water work. Additional modules have been developed that will become applicable based on the beach environment, these include paddlecraft, personal fitness and personal water craft.

International Life Saving Qualifications
One of the services we offer is that if you are a current holder of one of our qualifications (e.g. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Beach Lifeguard Qualification) then you will be eligible to apply for an ILS equivalent certificate (International Pool Lifeguard Certificate or International Surf Lifeguarding Certificate). The certificate and insignia may take up to six weeks to be received by us so please leave plenty of time before applying.
